So I decided that it was time to get my bum off the couch and get working out. Well actually, I think that's not a totally true statement. Not much of my time is spent on the couch these days with a busy toddler in the house. I'm constantly on the go.
When A was first born, and the few months following, exercise was not even a thought. Sleeping was the priority. As she got older, we walked often around town, met friends at the park, and I kept busy around the house. I felt like that was enough "exercise" for me. Plus, when was there time in the day for true exercise.
I feel pretty lucky that I didn't struggle with losing weight after pregnancy. For some reason, my metabolism and a nursing baby, quickly shed the pounds, and even a few more then expected. I didn't have the motivation to get out there and lose weight.
One thing i've not recuperated since pregnancy was tone and strength. With time to fit in exercise still a struggle, I looked into a home workout DVD. I'll admit, at times i'm afraid i"ll give up before finishing, and not push myself as hard because no ones watching.
I'm not sure if anyone really follows this blog, but I was hoping to post a bit to this blog along the journey, and use it as an inspiration to keep it up.
After reviewing some workout DVDs I decided to stick with Jillian's Micheals; Tone the Trouble Spots. The reviews looked great on Amazon.
So even though we're still a day away from March, I kicked off my routine tonight. Honesty, it kicked my bum! I was barely making it to the end, and had to cut some corners to get that far. I'm setting myself a goal of working out 4 nights a week. I'm hoping to look back in a month, and see some pretty exciting changes:)

Curls and bows
Heres a little peek of miss sporting her new hair clips I've been making. Oh, and I love that her hair is starting to fill in and curl up on the bottom... Such a cutie!

Recipe
Last night I didn't feel like cooking much. I grabbed a mix of random items in the cabinet and fridge and came up with a surprisingly delicious meal. Thought it was worth a share for other busy mom's like me.
Ingredients:
Or whatever you have around the house:)
1. Box of Near East Couscous ( I had olive oil and garlic flavored)
2. Cucumber, diced
3. Almonds
4. Feta cheese
5. Carrots, thinly sliced
6. Garbanzo beans
7. Dried cranberries
8. Cilantro, chopped
9. Ground pepper
10. Balsamic vinegar dressing- about a tablespoon.
Cook your couscous, let cool and add in all your ingredients. Enjoy

Bubbles
I'll admit, today had its rough spots. The little miss has been under the weather since Sunday. Poor thing doesn't feel well.
We decided that some fresh air and sunshine would do us well. After an awesome walk with my BFF and a trip to Target, I decided to relax outside and soak in the setting sun. I've been trying to come up with new fun things for the miss to explore. What a perfect day for bubbles. Of course, I could not find a basic old bottle of bubbles. Target only had the fancy ones. The more I got thinking... How nice would it be to have to be winded minutes after bubble blowing began. So I snatched up this one.
I will have to confess, I wasn't so sure it could meet the expectations listed on the packaging. I mean, for $2.99, you can't ask for much.
Well let me say, this is awesome. Well worth the money spent. Hundreds of bubbles with the push of the trigger:) I think I might have had a bit more fun then the girl, bringing back childhood memories. I even had to show it off to my sweet husband when he got home from work.
Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in the business of life. I'm trying to take a step back, and enjoy the precious moments with our ever changing, and growing girl.

Crochetting
Ive been in the crocheting mood lately. I'll admit, my strength is not coming up with new and unique ideas...but re-creating ones I've found. No wonder I'm a lover of Pinterest.
Now that little miss has a bit more hair, I've been on the hunt for some cute hair pieces. She's not a fan of headbands, and finding cute little clips is proving to be challenging. I am in love with the look of crocheted bows. Add them to a clip... And it's adorable. Here's a sneak peak of what I've been up too!

Fast frosting
To share in the holiday cheer, I decided to make some cookies for my husbands coworkers. I had all intentions of having them ready today. Unfortunately I didn't make it. Oh well, they will be just as tasty tomorrow too.
Since time is always a crunch when your a mom, I set out to find an alternative to normal cookie frosting. I've been known to spend hours frosting cookies. I recently came across this post:
http://www.createdby-diane.com/2012/01/how-to-ice-cookies-without-a-a-piping-bag-icing-the-easy-way.html
I decided to give it a try. It was a hit! The cookies weren't perfect, but looked great. I got all 4 dozen frosts in 30 minutes. Score!
Happy Valentines Day!

Changes.
Yes. I'm changing back to blogger. For the last two-ish years I attempted life on Wordpress. Not being much of a computer nerd, I was constantly lost on Wordpress. Spending countless hours trying to make the smallest changes. I finally caved:) I'm in the process of moving all my post over...so if anyone knows how, I would love the insight. Until then...check out ajournalingjourney.wordpress.com...
